Griffith Gravel Routes

Over winter while wandering through Intraweb looking at various mapping websites and such. Found a couple of more gravel rides in the Griffith area. While it isn't along the lines of the mtb adventures am currently seeking. Saving for future because maybe one day may mentally be in the mood for something like this.

Future adventures maybe down the road. For now just filed away t make it easier for the ADHD and TBI brain to find in future.

Ontario Peak and High Point Bagging Resources.

More for me to make it easier in future to recall especially the Ontario High Points web page. Links of the resources I so far use to find  peaks or high points in Ontario. Also to make it easier if anyone else asks to share.

Ontario High Points

Leeds and Grenville High Point

Note, these are only the starting resources to seeking out these spots for an adventure. One still requires maps and I will always advise to invest in paper maps from Back Roads Map Books of areas as they show way more then is online or in mapping apps. $20 a map is cheap insurance against a very bad adventure outcome.

Also advise one should spend time looking at info on the area they are going to adventure in to and that includes Google Maps Satellite view if available street view. To at least get some idea of what is around.

2025 End Of Year Review

As per tradition and rules of reviewing or looking over the year happens after New year's Eve.As have said before till the year has actually ended there is still days that could have an adventure to add to it all. Amd now that it is after New year's now we can review.

2024 Year In Review- Oh Hell Yeah

There where lots more high lights to look back on in 2022. Though the biggest highlights where the remote peak bagging trips that really stand out.

2025 saw two trips to the Griffith area for a few days of truck camping and seeking peaks or high points. With at least for me 6 new peaks bagged. While I won't claim to be the first to ride and hike a bike these with a mountain bike. I am probably one of a handful of riders who have been to these spots.

While two where ridden and bagged as individual effects those specifically being Jamiesons Mtn and West Peak of the Three Mountains. With Jamieson's Mtn being the remote peak since was up at the Cembermere area few years ago.

Four where bagged in one ride and can say at this point it was the hardest adventure of the year. Though was also the best. Which was the Griffith Highlands 4 Peak Traverse which covered Lake Mtn, Buck Mtn, Spring Mtn, and Godin Mtn. This was a hard day out this one specifically.

With the "easiest" peak bagged being The West peak of the Three Mountains. Say easiest as not counting map reading to confirm locations and heading was correct. there wasn't as much grunt work as in hike a bike or more carry the bike to get there. West Peak of the Three Mountains has the best descent so far in the area.

After that there was the 2 trips to Vorlage and one to Mont Rigauld for some lift serviced enduro days. And it has been over a decade since last did anything involving a chairlift. Mont Rigauld had the toughest run which was Couloir and rode all of it except the Couloir.

Mont Rigauld Oct 18th 2025 Review

The second trip to Vorlage saw 2 PR's set on Dechanee Long first on the hardtail then the next PR was set on the Starling Mega Twist. Which was a nice end to the season kinda especially after the last 5 years. And it felt good to do it on two different bikes.

Since mentioned the Starling. Two biggest bike wise things was the addition of the Starling Mega Twist which I beginning of 2025 acquired to follow Dr Bardana's long term medical instructions.

And the second was a special project bike. That being the Wandering Wideangle which saw a frame mod to allow it to travel easier. While haven't taken it out for an actual ride yet as it was in October when it was pretty much built back up.

And at the end of the year saw a small achievement done. That being 1,179 days of straight rides.

Also add in ice cream rides with Phiona  a few times over the summer. With one ride exploring the upgraded K&P Trail north of Sharbot lake with the turn around at the Mississipi River Bridge. Hopefully more in 2026.

Overall 2022 was a good year with a lot of new things done and places ridden. Ended up doing more then expected adventures wise. Which is good overall result of the year. Now to looking at maps over winter and ideas for 2026
