Only Starling On Mont Rigauld- Mont Rigauld Phase 2 Oct 18th 2025

After the first half of the day riding Mont Rgauld on the Stylus swapped to the Starling for the second half of the day.

Old Man and A Hardtail Mont Rigauld Phase 1 Oct 18th 2025

Only Starling on Mont Ribauld

Once pedals swapped it was on the lift and runs on the Starling. Riding in the afternoon made the decision to not do The Couloir as felt that had a second run on the hardtail on it that was good and mentally felt that since was later in day just focus on the less technically challenging runs. Kinda thought might be pushing my luck and save it for another visit when fresh. Best to let it be after one good run.

Kind of rode the more moderate trails compared to The Couloir. And this would be the first actual lift serviced enduro type riding where I wasn't attempting to set the bike up more.  Only did video on two runs with the GoPro. The first being on Kamikaze.

After a few more runs did a run of Yakima with the GoPro on for the run. Looking at the data later it would appear that this run on video was a PR on Yakima. Coo that it happened. proof that working on just flowing or being as smooth as can be does more then how hard one can go.

Turns out the run on Yakima with the GoPro would be the last run of the day.  Which was good as a good final run is the best ending of the day. And that way avoided mental fatigued caused crash and injuries.

Old Man and A Hardtail Mont Rigauld Phase 1 Oct 18th 2025

Just before October 18th got  asked if wanted to ride Mont Rigauld on the weekend specifically the 18th. Of course I would. So on the 18th was up early and with friends we headed for the day at Mont Rigauld. A ski hill near Cornwall. Last time was this way was in 2013 for Substance Projects East Cup #2 race.

Again would bring the Stylus and the Starling like before. Stylus with the back u rear wheel and looking to see how many runs felt like getting in with it. Without even thinking about it was going to run a little experiment that only realized did at the end of the day. This also ended up being just before the date that one of my ski race heroes passing 32 years ago- Dave Murray. Sure it was mountain biking downhill runs it was fitting as 40 years ago it was at his summer ski camps that I found mountain biking. So fitting to do some gravity runs near that date.

Old Man and Hardtail Mont Rigauld

Mont Rigauld would and was interesting as it was at least to me more technical then Vorlage.Which is nice because made me ride differently then at  Vorlage. And after wrecking the rear wheel on the Stylus a few weeks earlier could do a few runs on the hardtail.

The last run of the day on the hardtail would be down The Couloir trail. Which is a slower more tech oriented trail withe the last half full of bridges, And this would be my second go at it that day and admit the rough idea is to ride it as smoothly as possible and with minimal number of dabs.

This run ran the GoPro in case it turned out to be an ok run. And it did. I admit though I took the ride around the big rock section as at that point was a bit over my head. And better to save it for another day to slowly work at it.

In the end rode it well as in no dabs and minimal flailing. That was the tasking and the tasking was completed. As well as a bit of making up for when the rear wheel had decided to retire the previous trip. Then it was to my buddies truck to swap to the Starling as can say my knee was a bit achy. And the second half of the day will be a separate entry itself.

Starling On Little Blue Mtn Oct 10th 2025

After was done riding at the Black and Decker trails  and was headed back towards Kingston. About half way to Gan had an idea if there was enough time to bag Little Blue Mtn on the Starling.

Black and Decker Enduro Runs Oct 10th 2025

This was just a short and easy high point bagging after the earlier enduro run laps in Brockville. And definitely way easier then the peak bagging earlier in the year up in Griffith. This would be the Starlings first peak bag.

After the usual checking out the view at the high point and peak photo. Headed down for the Starlings first peak bagging descent. Took my time descending as was near the end of the day and don't need more injuries.

One off the peak the next phase was to this time kind of wander the tracks around to see where it connected. It sort of ended up being kind of a loop. And with the sun starting to set it was time to get back to the Ute and head back to Kingston.

Black and Decker Enduro Runs Oct 10th 2025

After the crash at Vorlage and the weeks waiting for the bone bruise in the left hand to heal. It came time to test it a wee bit and tinker a bit with the set up of the Starling.

Vorlage There Will Be Blood September 21st 2025

Decided to head to Brockville to play around on the Black and Decker short enduro runs. take the time to tinker a wee bit on the Starlings set up more. And do so in a more relaxed setting this time instead of doing what did at Vorlage which led to the crash.

It was much easier to tinker more with the set up this time as know pressure like one can have at Vorlage. Over winter work on getting the coil for the longer travel rear shock have waiting for me to get around to getting one. Definitely had to add more air to the rear air shock. As well as had to spin the handlebar slightly more forward.

Got it all at this point where it feels like want it. However it can still be adjusted more when go back to Vorlage. Though at that point it will be more the small things like air pressure in the rear shock. It was good to get out and tinker a bit more before a future trip to Vorlage.
